Metered usage policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This policy describes how SkillQuest meters AI credits, storage capacity, and media operations. It supplements the Terms of Service.
Per-term consumables (credits and media requests)
- Included plan entitlements expire at the end of each billing term (0% rollover).
- Committed boosters (
EXTRA_COMMITTED) decay 50% of unused quantity each term. - Rolled-over balances (
ROLLED_OVER) decay 50% each term and are not reinstated if you downgrade and later re-upgrade. - PAYG top-ups roll forward at 100% while your account is active and in good standing; they are debited last when you consume credits.
- Quantities below 1 base unit floor to zero at settlement.
Drawdown order
We debit lots with the lowest rollover rate first (expires fastest). At equal rates: included → rolled-over → extra committed → PAYG.
Media operations (Class A / Class B)
SkillQuest attributes Cloudflare R2–style object operations against your organisation (and user caps when configured):
| Class | Typical operations | Notes | |-------|--------------------|-------| | Class A (writes) | PutObject, CopyObject, ListObjects | Client uploads bill once when the object is confirmed present (not when the upload URL is issued). Regenerating a clip costs +1 PutObject. | | Class B (reads) | GetObject, HeadObject, SignedUrlMint | Delivery and server reads are attributed. Fair-use WARN may allow temporary overage while usage is still recorded. | | Free (no debit) | DeleteObject, AbortMultipartUpload | Deleting or aborting uploads does not consume Class A. |
Marketing pricing “estimate” rows are illustrative regenerated artifacts, not live metering API calls.
Storage capacity
Storage is a total capacity cap, not per-term accrued burn. Plan included capacity refreshes each term; unused included bytes do not roll over. TOTAL storage boosters persist until revoked. Storage has no credit-style rollover decay.
FREE plan — AI credit grant choice
New Free organizations must choose one AI credit grant before using SkillQuest:
| Choice | Grant | Lot kind | Replenishment | |--------|-------|----------|---------------| | Weekly (recommended) | 120 AI credits per week | INCLUDED | Every Monday 00:00 UTC while Free | | Explore (one-time) | 2,000 AI credits once | PAYG (100% rollover; spend anytime) | None — no weekly AI Included top-ups |
- You may switch once within 14 days of the initial choice; after that the choice is locked.
- Switching Explore → Weekly keeps remaining Explore PAYG balance and does not grant 120 immediately; the next Monday UTC Free cron issues weekly Included.
- Switching Weekly → Explore grants the full 2,000 PAYG Explore allotment immediately and suppresses further weekly AI Included.
- Upgrade to a paid plan keeps remaining Free AI credits (Included and Explore PAYG). Credits are not forfeited on paid provision.
- Grandfathered Free organizations that already had weekly Included before this choice shipped remain on Weekly with the switch window closed.
Media Class A/B Included for Free continues on the Free weekly schedule regardless of AI grant choice.
Downgrades and cancellations
- Plan or seat downgrades take effect at the end of the current paid term; current-term lots remain until then.
- Recurring booster removals are scheduled for the term boundary; no mid-term cash refund.
- Moving to FREE at term end expires included and rolled-over committed balances on consumable meters; PAYG survives while the account remains active.
Refunds
| Product | Policy | |---------|--------| | PAYG top-up | Non-refundable — no cash value | | One-time booster / bundle | Prorata on unused quantity only | | Plan subscription | Prorata on time remaining; usage does not increase eligible refund | | Recurring booster | Cancel at term end only — no mid-term cash refund | | Storage booster | Capacity revoke only — no cash refund (v1) | | Rolled-over balance | Non-refundable |
Inactivity and account standing
If your organization has no billable metered activity for 24 months, rollover and PAYG balances may be forfeited. Unpaid, suspended, or closed accounts may forfeit rollover and PAYG per contract.
Fair use
Metered limits enforce sustainable platform use. Class A/B fair-use defaults use WARN (with configured grace): overage may be allowed while usage remains attributed. Contact support for enterprise arrangements.
